2004 Dog Show
July 20, 2004

A Great BIG THANK YOU

to all those who came by the booth to visit, learn more about Husky Haven, and gave donations.

As most of you know, this past weekend, Husky Haven had a rescue booth at the Reliant World Series of Dog Shows. This is the first time that Husky Haven has hada booth at the dog show since it started being held at Reliant. The booth was paid for with donations from the birthday paw-ties that we hold each year forour fur-kids.

Thank you to everyone that helped with both, whether it was helping with literature and merchandise or by volunteering. I would especially like to thank M'liss Evans for the beautiful quilts that she made (see attached photos), Jeanette Garey for the beautiful caricature prints and cards, Virginia Morrison for the dog collar covers, Kim and CarlNickles for the generous donation of Husky Haven collage shirts (we still have a few Lg and XL shirts available to purchase), Cecila and Kim for the Raffle basketand Steven Malm for putting up with me the week prior to the show. Thank you to Virginia Morrison and Indy, Kim, Carl, Echo, Mocha and Aurora Nickles, M'liss Evans, Celicia and Alan Dossey, Paula Akins, Steven Malm and Lou Parris for giving up parts of their weekend to help run the booth, it wouldn't have been a success with out your help. I would also like to thank Pandora, Sasha, Echo and Indy for donning the husky donation pack-it made it very hard for people to resist:)

At the end of the show, Iams and Science Diet sent us home with approx. 350 lbs of food, thatwe sent home with Lou to take to Pat's house. Margie Serage of Malamute Rescue also purchased some dog food for us and brought us some much needed heartgard puppy packs.

The booth helped us raise awareness, you would be surprised how many people didn't know we existed and that we had to exist. We also may have gotten a few future adoptions and fosters out of it. But the most immediate part, was we were able to raise over $350 for Husky Haven. Next year, every dog wears a back pack:)

So, for those of you that helped, I hope that you had fun. And for those of you who weren't able to help, maybe next year. The first birthday party fundraiser for next year's dog show will be sometime in November (unless someone else has one earlier). So keep that in mind.
