I’ve just seen for the first time what is
(undoubtedly) a re-run of the above program and,
whilst I can’t contribute anything tangible from
my current location (Scotland), which is about
4,000 miles away, I would like to express my
admiration for the work you are carrying out. I
have to say, I was outraged at the owners lack
of treatment of the young husky you named Vodka
but delighted at your dedication and hard work
in providing recuperation and fostering for this
unfortunate soul. I seldom email, but was so
taken with Vodka’s placid nature and am glad you
managed to secure a more loving environment for
him.
I send you only my utmost respect and gratitude
that you’re providing this invaluable service
for these less fortunate animals.
Please keep up the good work and (when I can)
I’ll arrange something more helpful than words.
In the meantime, I wish you all the very best in
your endeavours.

August 7, 2008 I wanted to let you know of a recent event relating to my dogs Beaux and Mac. Last week my dogs got out and went on a little adventure. After spending hours looking for them I gave up and left my gate open and figured they would come home as usual. This time was anything usual, my dogs ended up jumping the concrete barriers on HWY 59 in the middle of the night. As morning traffic began my dogs ended up between the busy lanes of traffic of 59 at 610. Then, a Husky Haven angel spotted my stranded dogs and quickly turned around to rescue them. Beaux quickly came to Mr. Nathan Chesley however, Mac was spooked by a passing truck and jumped over the median into oncoming traffic and was instantly killed. We first only mourned the loss of our beloved Mac however, now we are appreciating how blessed our family is to have Beaux due to the heroic actions of Mr. Chesley. I have renewed faith in fellow mankind that people like Nathan Chesley would go out of his way to rescue helpless animals in a dangerous situation. I tried to reward him however he refused and asked instead I make a donation to Husky Haven. I did not find a place to make a donation online with a credit card so I am sending a check in the mail to your organization in honor of Nathan Chesley and in memory of Mac. Thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Michelle Maresh |

| July 18, 2005: Tikaani (Nike) is doing great! We all have so much fun together. During the day he follows Katrina around the house and helps her while she does her chores and studies. In the evening he knows dad is home and it is time to play! We start off with a game of fetch and then it's time to strap on the harness and leash! Boy does he talk when he sees his harness and leash being taken out! After he is all harnessed and ready to go, out comes the skate board and he goes nuts as he can't wait to run. The next thing you know, we are cruising at top speed around the neighborhood and getting rather odd looks from the people on the block (Siberians are not common place here). He runs at a pretty steady pace most of the time. However, the children of the neighborhood have figured out our schedule and watch for us to come by everyday and when he see's them he has to show off by turning on the afterburners while we run by them. As soon as he thinks we are well passed them he slows back to his normal pace.
After that he retires to is evening meal and lays on his doggie pillow while we watch TV. He has also fallen love with this little toy mouse! It's hilarious as he carries it around with him no matter where he goes! He lays it by his food bowl while he drinks, carries while he goes outside to go to the bathroom and then on to bed. He also just carries it around the house while we do our day to day chores. He's a great dog and we are very happy! We want to thank you so much for what you do and helping us find a dog like him. --Ryan and Katrina |
| July 12, 2005: Rose is doing beautifully!!!! We had a medium sized dog door and Rose was having trouble getting her shoulders through, so we installed the extra large on yesterday and she LOVES it. She has not had any accidents in the house at all. She just goes outside and comes right back in!!! Also, the food aggression seems to have gone away. She and Tuffy both get treats together and she does not bother him at all, even if she finishes hers first. One day, Rose was eating her dinner in the kitchen, Tuffy came in and laid down next to her and she didn't fuss at all. I think she is learning that there is enough food and treats for everyone!
I have also been working with her on sit, down and stay. She is wonderful!!! She will do all three with only hand signs!!! The stay is a little difficult, the treats are just too tempting sometimes, but she is doing wonderful!!! I have to tell you that Rose is one of the very best pups we have ever had. I am so glad she has joined our family!!! --Rebecca |
| June 27, 2005: Well just to let you know that Mandy is doing great. She is doing well with her food issues; I can now pet her and touch her bowl while she is eating without any protest. But with the bones she still growls some but no longer shows her teeth and she allows me to take the bone but is quick to let me know that she rather I didn't but after praising her for allowing me to take her bone she gets is right back. Jett and Mandy are playing good now although they still have some confrontation but are both quick to stop when told to. Jett was neuter 3 weeks ago and is healing well. I still want to foster and hope to start by September, I will let you know.
One last thing, since Mandy we have been able to let Jett be free in the house without any issues although he still likes to be in his kennel the door stay open. Mandy really does not like her kennel. Oh yeah last Friday we took the baby's to Millie Bush dog park and Mandy just loved it. She acted like she had been there before and she loves to swim, Jazz also loves to swim but Jett not so much. Well I will contact you soon about fostering. --Terri |
| June 26, 2005: Now that we've had Taska for a few months now, I thought that I'd let yall know how she's doing. She has blended in beautifully with our family, and our other husky "Whisper". There was a lot of jealousy at first but this didn't last long, they now do a lot of ''playfull' fighting, and making noise at each other. Taska mastered the doggie door on our closed in patio in about five minutes, and it is evident that she didn't spend a lot of time on grass as she was very hesitant to spend any time on it . She now roams around the yard and seems to enjoy it very much. She is very insistent when she wants to be petted and will ''very strongly'' push her head under your arm and give you that look to pet her. We've removed her cage and replaced it with her own large bed near Whisper's and they both sleep in the family room, and don't bother each other's bed. When i give them fresh water each day i fill the bowl with water and ice cubes, and it's really funny to watch Taska bobbing for ice cubes-she loves them. We have found that if we leave a paper towel down at night it must attack her because she will shread it in self defense, but nothing else will be disturbed. She is doing well and we enjoy haveing her as a member of our family. --Johnny & Stephanie |
| June 23, 2005: I just wanted to express my appreciation for making it possible to adopt Chester. Cecilia and Alan were so kind to bring Chester to us since I could not figure a way to transport Steve, his wheelchair and the other two pets to them. Being a foster is such a wonderful and thankless job I bet. Chester is such a wonderful pup...and he has such a cute personality as well. Very affectionate and playful, and working out with Seska who will be the dominate dog. But their play rairly get's out of hand. More and more, they wrestle for a while and end up laying next to each other. Thanks again and I will keep y'all posted as he adjusts more. --Russ |
| June 8, 2005: Things are going fine with Samson (previously Mulligan). Things are pretty good also with the others. Cleo, the MinPin, doesn't really want much to do with him, but she is kinda the matriarch of the family and can't really be bothered by a couple of playful guys. Caesar, the small male and Samson are good buddies. They sleep during the day together and play all the time. He is doing great. He now goes directly to his crate on command. Things are going well and he is such a great addition to our family. Thanks so much to you and Carl. --Reagan |

Feb 26, 2005: Wanted to show you how comfortable Ms. Hollie has gotten at her new home with her new family. Just wanted to let you know how smart Hollie is...She has learned how sing, lay down and roll over on command. She has added this to her other tricks of sit and shake. I love my Hollie very much. -- Madisen |
| June 13, 2005: My name is Pamela and I adopted one of your wonderful dogs almost four years ago. You had named him Barkley, but I renamed him Brody. I love Brody very much and he has been one of funniest and loveable dogs that I have had the pleasure of sharing my life with. I shop at Kroger and would like for you to send me one of the cards to show at check-out. Thank you for my dog and thank you for each and every dog that has passed through your Husky Haven doors. -- Thanks, Pamela |
| January 22, 2005: It's been quite some time since ive written but thought about you this morning when i woke up to somebody ringing my doorbell looking for the owner of a lost dog. Midnight occasionally joins me at work...Im not sure who loves him more, the kids or my coworkers, but he enjoys running around the building meeting everyone and showing off how beautiful he is. He has adjusted to living without other roommates around pretty well since I moved but i know he misses the interaction. He has become less territorial now that its just me and him in that he doesn't go to the bathroom in the house at all. He has learned several commands including sit, down, up, shake, come, speak (a little woof), and speak loud (a siberian bark). I noticed that none of the dogs i remember seeing were still on the site which is great to see. You definitely have your hands full but every one of those dogs is beautiful and should have no trouble finding a home. I wanted to thank you again for letting Midnight come home with me. He has been the most wonderful addition to my life and makes me extremely happy. Im not sure what I would do without him. This is the second anniversary of my life with him and I cant thank you enough for doing what you do. You bring joy and happiness into the lives of people and animals that would be destitute without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me a happy man. -- Cyle & Midnight |
| March 13, 2005: Just a quick update. Mandy is doing beautifully. She and
Misty are best buddies and play all the time. It has turned
Misty into a youngster again and she was 11 several weeks ago.
Mandy is so trust worthy that she has been out of her crate for over 6 weeks
now, day and night. She is an absolute love and so smart. We
are in school. Took one class and although we finished it -
wasn't what I wanted for her. So started another class last
Sat and it is going to be great. She has our routine figured out and
sometimes seems to know what I am going to do before I do. She
is over most of her quirks, except when another dog comes charging
up to her and she still snarls and snaps the air. She has
gained weight and now that all the meds are totally out of her
system has a beautiful soft and shinny coat. She loves to be
brushed and we do it 4 or 5 times a week to get all the slobber out
of both their coats. Plus it is such a bonding exercise.
Anyway she is a real joy and a wonderful asset to our home and Misty
and I both love her dearly. So, thanks again from all of us. --Gail, Misty and Mandy
January 20, 2005: Just a quick update. Mandy is wonderful and has settled in beautifully. Misty ignored her offers of play for 3 weeks and then guess she decided that Mandy was here to stay and she initiated the play. Never dreamed that my 11 year old would play again, but they are having a blast. Mandy is relatively gentle and Misty is holding her own in the scuffles. Mandy and I are in obedience school and we are not too happy with the class. 4 huge male dogs with absolutely no disciple or training. They are not mean, just young, (all under 8 months of age)-but they charge her wanting to play (the owners have NO control) and man o man does she curl that lip. So I am keeping between them and her and in spite of the environment she is learning and doing well. We even won the quick "sit" contest. She is gaining weight. I brush her 3 or 4 times a week and her coat is abolutely gorgeous- so silky and shinning. She has gained a lot of confidence and is a typically curious young girl. She trusts me completely now and will let me do most anything, including clipping the bottom of her feet. She got out the other day when I went to get the mail. Smart little imp, threw her weight against the garage door from the kitchen until she got it open and was so proud of herself. I just called her and jumped around for a game of chasing Mom and she came right to me and back in the house. Boy, did she get love and treats. She is delightful and all of us are happy campers. --Gail |

We have also included a couple pictures of him and his sister Kia. He loves his stuffed animals and sitting on top of the back of the couch. We tease him about being part cat since he likes to walk the back of the couch and lie down. He also likes to bat his toys around on the tile and chase them. He loves his two to three walks a day, especially when we go to the fenced in area so he can play off leash with the other dogs. There are lots of rabbits and birds for him to chase. --Tanya, Donnie, Kia and Chance |

We've taken your advice and have bought all we need to install the electric fence-- which we will do tomorrow. As yet he won't poop in the backyard (great for us) but prefers to be taken for a walk to do his business-- which we take turns doing 3 times a day. He is so loving, talkative-- and has such a gentle demeanor he's just great!! He is a BIG hit in the neighborhood (handsome boy that he is) and people at the pool literally stop their cars to make comments!! Thank You again and again Pat, we are so appreciative of the work that you do...we know that financially it can get difficult, so we will add your wonderful organization as a new charity to contribute to. You are welcome to visit him anytime! We are so happy to have him--the Holmes Family |

June 23, 2004: I wanted to let you know that Kieran (whom we adopted from you on June 5, 2004) is doing wonderfully at home with us. We have given him a new name, Kobi, which he seems to be catching onto really quickly. He loves to go on walks, but he is the best at cuddling with Kyle and I. Patches and him are the absolute best of friends. They play non-stop and even sleep next to each other if they are not playing. He loves to be loved on, and gives tons of kisses and hugs back to everyone. Kobi is still a little timid when the weather is bad and prefers hiding in his crate, but will come out as soon as Patches says she wants to play. He has learned to sit, and now we are working on 'down' and 'stay'. He is up-to-date on all his heartworm medication, and is due for another check-up in July with pal Patches. Thank you so much for all of your hard work with all of these wonderful dogs. I know they appreciate it and we certainly do to. --Lauri, Kyle, Patches, and Kobi |

My son and I picked Blitz up last night and we just wanted to thank you for wonderfully sweet dog. Once he came into the house, I believe he immediately realized that he was "King Dog" and he accepted the role graciously. My son took him outside once to use the bathroom and that was all It took, every time he had go he just went straight to door and wagged his tail and we knew what he wanted. He slept with my son last night and today he when right into his crate when we were leaving. We're both very anxious to get home this afternoon so that we can start spend time together. As with most things in life, no one is perfect...In Blitz's case, he has chosen my new sofa as his place of residence, so we may have work on that.(ha ha) --Debra |

Just thought we'd drop you a note to let you know how Basil (now
Cayenne) is doing. He's come out of his shell around David and I and has made a great friend
with my little sister but is still shy around other people. We tried puppy
socialization classes but he just hid under the chair, doggy daycare is
next. |

I just wanted to give you an update about Orion. He is doing very well. I took him to my vet and he weighed 52 pounds. All of the staff loved him and he gave them all kisses. I have started him on his heartworm and flea/tick control. He and Maverick are getting along much better now. They play ALL day long. It seems that both of their appetites have increased and they are both pretty tired at the end of the day. Every once in a while, we will have to break them up when Maverick gets too rough. We have also given them separate bowls of water and food. The other day we were feeding them and my husband and I went into the living room. When I looked a few minutes later they had switched bowls!! I think they thought one was getting something better. I wanted to ask you how you got Orion's coat to be so soft. I would really like to keep it that way. Well, sorry this email is so long! --Dusty |

| This
is Greg & Carol. We have had Shelby now for almost a year
& he
is our best friend. He hasn't been much of a problem except for his
random
peeing in the same spot. He is currently enrolled at Man's Best
Friend for
it & right away they said just to do the three session crash course
because
Shelby was trained very well, we were the ones who needed training.
He
walks beside us on the lease like a pro & sits when he stops (most of
the
time). He follows me around the house & is just a sweetie.
My mom almost
tries to steal him when she is around him. All the neighborhood kids
always
want to pet the "snow dog" & Shelby just eats it up.
He usually walks about
three-four miles a day & sleeps on the floor next to me on his bed on
the
floor. The Vet said he was in great shape and probably about three
so we
made is birthday in October & he will be four then. Everyone
needs a sled
dog! Sure they shed like mad, but shedding is better than standing
by the
door barking all day. He has his microchip & is laying at my
feet while I
am typing. Carol & I plan on bringing you his crate for a
donation soon.
He almost chewed & clawed his way out of it & bloodied his paw
& broke off
the bottom of a tooth. He sure hates being alone, but so do I. Greg & Carol |

Just wanted you to know we have kept Clodine's name the same, my son, Travis liked it. Just an update on first night, she did fine, I had crate in my bedroom, she wasn't too thrilled to stay in it so she got spoiled and slept on the bed, and did great. She was in crate today, and eventually stopped whining and howling, she will have to be in one during day while we're at work. But shes doing great, I do think she had some house training, she went to the door once, but seems to hold it until we let her out. Cats have not been a problem, we thought our dog Zoe, would try to emerge as Alpha dog, but so far has let Clodine be top dog. Clodine does right now get a little jealous, if we are petting her she doesn't want our other dog to come over and she lets her know it, but overall they're doing fine and I'm sure will do great as time goes on. Taking some pictures and will send you one. We love her, she's sweet and will be easy to train, she listens well. Well just wanted to let you know she's fine, and will send other updates later. --Melody |

I wanted to give you an update on Tasha (Allie). We have had her
since January. She is still a bit skittish but, coming along. She seems to
be more afraid of men than women. Her and our male Tuk get along great.
She is such a trip. He is twice her size but, she is much faster. She has
no problem taking his bone and running with it. He is a gentleman and lets
her think she is getting away with it. He eventually gets it back. Their
favorite play place is our king size bed. They play "king of the
mountain". They are great fun to watch. She eats well and has learned
how to ask to go out. In fact she can be a bit demanding. She is getting
used to the idea of being loved and is jealous when my husband gives me
too much attention. |

I notice that Paul has already written you but I wanted to tell you how
happy we are with her! Thank you for putting all those pictures of
her on your site. I have forwarded it to both our sons, who
live in Austin and Colorado, so that they can see the newest member of
the family!
We went shopping at Petsmart this afternoon, and she was the "Belle
of the Ball!" Everyone thought she was beautiful!
She is! We got 2 new tags...one with our name, address
and phone number, and the other had the microchip information.
There are balls and "bones" and toys all over the house.
She has found quite a few that had rolled under furniture from when
we had Bonnie. (Shows how good a house-keeper I am!)

Hi
Pat, I just wanted to drop a line and let you know Dozer (Deizel)werenamed him is doing great were not having anymore problems with him getting out he loves to play with my husbands husky and loves laying on the air conditioning vent now he does hate the pens when were gone but we found out he hates to be away from his people when we had no blinds left on the frond door (typical husky). And now that we have him back from losing him i don't plan on doing that again. but he is doing great the vet says he is in wonderful shape at a whopping 64.5lbs and he loves his food but there's not a mean bone in his body. he even likes my little dog. Tha'ts another story in its self.. He walks great and has wonderful manners, I have never had a husky like him he is fantastic. Thank you for such a great Husky. 6-6-03 |

In August, it'll be 3 years since I adopted Samantha (red &
white). She is still the favorite among family & friends.
She is so affectionate with everyone. She loves to play with my
other husky, Kodi. (If I haven't sent you a recent picture, let
me know). Some family members have added dogs to their own
households and Sam just loves to play with them all. One of them
is a husky that was going to be abandoned because a couple was moving
to Florida. They played hard yesterday and I'm certain that if I
was to go home now she'd be passed out asleep.

![]() Midnight
is doing great. I followed your advice with the warm bath and greyhound
comb and that did the trick. I filled a kitchen trash bag with all the
hair that came off of him. He still has a little bit left on him that's
just now loosened up but I think he appreciates the time Ispent getting that off him now that its warm outside. He has learned the down command pretty well and is one of the most presentable dogs I have ever seen. He loves on everyone without jumping on them and he makes everyone feel at home. He lets everyone know when its time to play and has become more vocal during playtime. He is almost completely housebroken, with a few accidents every once in a while, and comes and nips at me if he needs to go out and I'm not paying attention. Everyone loves his personality and he's definitely a hit with the ladies. Chris and I get hit on everywhere we go when Midnight is with us. He's such a heartbreaker...lol. Midnight is definitely another of your success stories. Cyle |
| Mystic
(aka Barbie) just wanted to wish you and her former foster parents a Happy
Easter! Mystic is doing great and she's having fun playing with
Tango. She found an Easter bunny at the park the other day that she
wanted, so I had a fun time pulling her away from the rabbit. Hope you are
having luck finding good homes for your other dogs. Love, Julie and Mystic April 19, 2003 |
| Thanks
again for everything. Tess seems to be settling in just fine. Cinder
doesn't let her forget that she's the alpha dog, but Tess just almost
laughs it off. We've taken to just leaving the back door open so she can
just go in and out as she pleases. She's out in the yard now playing with the kids. She calms down rather quickly for a dog her age. When she's had enough.....she just comes in and plops down on the kitchen floor or the tile by the front door and stays there for a bit. She "talks" especially loud when Shelby is laughing. I'll send you some photos of her in the back yard playing with Cinder. Terri April 04, 2003 |
| It's
been a year since we adopted Porche. She's doing great. Still
chases the cats, but doesn't try to hurt them. We have a new puppy,
Lab mix. Porche and the new puppy (Roxie) are getting along great.
Porche and I will be attending a dog training class next month.
Attached is some pictures. Thanks again. She
's a great dog.

Hey there!
Robin Thursday, March 06, 2003 |
| Bashier
is doing just great. She likes to sing to my moms cats. She will walk up
to one sit down and start howling. Not in an aggressive way she's just
singing, the cats don't seem to mind that she can't carry a tune. She has
also taken over my bed. I don't mind though and boy dose she love to run!!!!! I'll put her outside so she can do her thing and shell run around like her tail is on fire for about 15 minutes. It worried me at first with the whole hip thing but you cant even tell anything was ever wrong with it. she loves her toys too. When I first got her I got her a squeaky squirrel and some bones well she chewed them all up so I took her to pets mart so she could pick out her toys. She went up and down the toy isle and grabbed the same squirrel and walked off with it. Kind of like how did my toy get here. Anyway she is just perfect. I saw that two of the puppies have already been adopted and that mikial came back..i guess it didn't work out for him? well I hope you are doing well, and can you send me your address so I can send a donation for Christmas. Thank you. Caitlin Friday, December 13, 2002 |
| I
saw your posting for the black and tan Husky at the Harris County facility
last week. She is a very sweet girl. I adopted her this week
and will pick her up on Tuesday. You have a very nice website.
Keep up the great work! Lori Saturday, February 15, 2003 |
| Things
at the house are great! Barbie seems very
happy here and loves to play with Tango. Her new name is Mystic, or Missy
for short. She is starting to catch on to it. Mystic has already taken over Tango's dog house. She could care less about her own. She is a wonderful dog and a very fast eater. Mystic and Tango have fun times playing together, and our poor yard will never be the same! Both dogs love going on walks together, and I am sure we are a sight to see. All our neighbors ask us why Tango is so much bigger than Mystic. We will keep in touch and periodically send pictures of the dynamic duo. Please let her former foster parents know that she is happy, and in a loving home with her knew brother. Good luck finding homes for the other dogs, and if any of our friends ever want a new dog, I will send them your way. Sincerely, Juile 1/19/03 |
| I
am just writing to update you on our recent adoption of the red and white
Husky, Niko. (Now renamed "Kaze" as in kamikaze)
Aside from a REALLY mischievous side (namely unplanting MOST of my potted
plants Now, just a note to all the other Siberian Husky lovers out there - We have to get all these dogs into good homes. Every animal deserves a loving family and a good life. I just know we can do it. Thanks to Husky Haven for giving us such a wonderful gift: Kaze's unconditional love! All our best, The Patchen Family 1/14/03 |
| We
recently went to Ohio for Christmas and took all 3 dogs with us. Of
course, it didn't snow like we were wishing it would, but we did get
enough for the dogs to romp in and see their natural instincts come out.
I thought you might like a couple pictures of Chili (Ember) playing in the
snow. She's getting so big!! Take care and please keep me in
touch. Thanks!! Jen 1/13/03

| Echo
has be
en doing wonderfully adjusting to his new surroundings and family.
He and Mocha play hard together and they do actually take breaks...once in
awhile! They've learned each other's moves and continually find new
ones to try out on the other. He is quite curious and much braver
than Mocha trying everything he could that first week
while I'm sure Mocha has warned him not to or else he'd get caught, e.g.
jump on anything and everything, trying to drive while waiting for us to
get into the car, counter surfing, etc. He definitely keeps us on
our toes but it's hard to get too mad at him when he gives you the
innocent look! :-) We have continued training with him and he
is a quick learner although he's also picking up on Mocha's stubbornness
which is one thing we didn't want him to learn! I think he's finally
getting back to eating his normal servings after getting used to eating
twice a day and now weighs a healthy 46# as of last Thurs. As you
know, we took both of them home (Kansas) with us for the Thanksgiving
holiday as we really didn't want to separate them. Even in the 2
short weeks we had him, it was as if we had him all along as he fit right
in and didn't appear to have any problems adjusting and so far, no
territorial issues; Mocha is starting to exert a little dominance now but
nothing like we imagined might happen. They did very well on the
long drive - 10-12 hours and slept most of the way, and were fine with
being in a new house and around all the toddlers and adults who came to
visit them! Everyone thought they were so cute and well behaved; and
even more so when we took them with us to the portrait studio for family
pictures. We didn't have to struggle with them to sit for the
pictures and they turned out really good. Echo passed the temperament
test over at Urban Tails and they now go 1 day a week which they both love
and get worn out at the end of the day. We still go to Yappy Hour at
3 Dog Bakery occasionally and still maintain our weekly and occasional
weekend play dates with Calla, 1 year old yellow lab who's party they
attended a couple of weeks ago. They're doing great with the
Christmas tree but I'm sure the real test will be when we put lights and
ornaments on tonight. Of course, like all kids, they visited Santa
and got their picture taken! Echo has been a great addition to the
family and we're so happy that we decided to adopt him...he's a great
brother for Mocha and a wonderful son to us! You're more than
welcome to visit him if you'd like...just give us a call or email.
Thanks,

| Its
Caitlin and Bashier. Just wanted to let you know she is doing GREAT!!!
She is eating good and there hasn't been any hip related incidents!! She
also is doing great with the cats she loves to sing to them. She will
walk right up to one sit down and precede to sing. The cats don't
seem to mind that she is a little off key. She also has
taken over my bed I don't mind though.

We are having a lot of fun
with Circe whom we have renamed Sasha. She loves gnawing
on her giant sized rawhide bone and has nearly eaten right
through the center. She has been very good regarding
furniture. Sasha has such a loving , gentle
temperament.
She has adapted and behaved so
well apart from the occasional accident.
We are very glad we have her.
She is a little sweetheart. Thanks so much for
raising her for us.

Just
wanted to let you know how wonderful things are going with Coda. We
have learned that she is completely house trained, no crate needed--we
found this out after she got out one day, so she's much happier to be
loose with Patrick, and free to snuggle on my bed with him and the 2
kitties. At first she tolerated the cats, but now she has become
quite cuddly with them--they INSIST!!She loves long walks, and especially car rides!! She loves furniture, and has even gotten Patrick to start sleeping on the sofa--which is good for his old bones. He seems to have reverse-aged since his bouncy little girl has been around to keep him on his toes, they've almost become one dog--they go out together, walk together, follow me from room to room together, etc. But most of all she loves my son Kevin, who's sooooo much more exciting than I am (every dog should have their own pet 11 year old boy!). She mourns when he leaves for school, and knows exactly when the bus is coming home--I know because 5 minutes before he arrives, she goes and sits at the front door. God forbid he should spend the night at his grand-parents, there is 2 footed dancing with glee on his return (just for the record, no she doesn't do that when I return). She's getting better at the vets, he's had me bring her up several times with Patrick, since she was "shot shy", so that she could get used to it being a friendly place--and Patrick's joy is rubbing off some, he plans to do her micro-chip next month (Sept), and insists that Patrick must come with her, as he has become her security blanket. Thanks for all the Joy!!! Julie & Kevin 8/28/02 |

He was amiable at the pound but overflowing with personality when
we got h
im home. Thanks again and keep up the great site!

| Hi,
Just a note to touch base and let you know that Piper is great!!! We have completely fallen in love with him. He is such a great personality and a perfect friend for my son. Everyone remarks about his sweet face and great disposition. But then, you knew that! Diana July 15, 2002 |

Just wanted to give you an update on Mocha (formerly known as Big
Red). Mocha is doing well and we are all adjusting to each other. We
used an incremental approach to crate training last week with each of us
taking turns working from home; he seems to be doing fine during the day
with a lunch break on his first week alone. He is very good at
sleeping through the night til 5:00 ish even though there have been a
couple of early morning wake up calls! He is eating well and loves
to sniff everything as well as play in the dirt and attempt to eat every
single bug! We've taken him on many walks where he loves to people
watch! We've also gone to PetSmart and Three Dog Bakery which he
enjoys and always wears him out. We areplanning to take him to a new indoor dog facility where he can play with other dogs after he gets his shots. In addition, he's visited a vet and is on heartworm treatment. He also contracted a virus but the antibiotic seems to be working; he loves taking the antibiotic...he'll be quite sad when that's gone! We've been doing training sessions with him and for the most part does pretty good especially if there's a treat involved. He'll start Puppy Kindergarten in a couple of weeks after he gets his shots. He's been introduced to a few of our friends as well as people in the neighborhood and at the stores. Everyone comments how good looking he is which if he was human would probably inflate his ego too much! We are looking forward to seeing him grow and learn more. I've attached a few pictures of him. Thanks again, June, 26, 2002 Kim and Carl |

Dear
Husky Haven Rescue, May 3, 2002 |
| Hi,
Just thought you would like to know how Porche is doing. She is enjoying running in our big back yard . She has been staying in her crate at night, because she is still chasing the cats. She doesn't try to hurt them, but they are scared of her and hiss. I know they will eventually get along. She stays downstairs and they stay upstairs. I took her to the vet and got heartworm and flea meds. She still had a cough and sneezing so they prescribed more meds for that. They think she might have allergies. She has gained 5 lbs. She is a very sweet dog and we are enjoying having her as a member of our family. Thanks, Wanda April 5, 2002 |
| Hi
there! Do you remember this sweetheart you took care of and nursed back to health? It's our wonderful Liza. Thought you would enjoy seeing her with us. Click on the link below. I even think she's put on some weight - must be all the lovin'! We had a near catastrophe this past Tuesday, when she bolted away from me deliberately and ran into some nearby woods. After searching and searching for more than an hour and a half in panic , I turned to walk home, whereupon a neighbor stopped to wonder why I was not with her - she had just passed her as she was walking home by herself. I was absolutely hysterical as my kind neighbor drove me back home and we were reunited. Liza is very stubborn and does not come when we call her. I am thinking some obedience training (if possible) might be in order! Regards to Ross. Amy http://www.sendpix.com/albums/020421/20310200000019149b7a62737c024f |
Just wanted to drop a little note and say how wonderful
this website is and to give you an update. We adopted Scar (Andy) about
six months ago and he has been just a God send for us and our other
Siberian Husky! He is so sweet and loveable and as you can see from the
pictures has adjusted well. We will eventually have to have his
blind eye removed but Scar is far from handicapped. I do not
think he even realizes that he has only one eye. He loves to go for
walks and to give lots of kisses. He plays non stop with his sister and
then tries to plop down on the sofa for a nap. We can barely
get her to leave him alone. She just loves him so much. I do not
know how she managed without him. They are both so spoiled but good
spoiled. They are our babies and we treat them as so. He is
a healthy happy dog with a family that loves him! Thanks for
everything! February 25, 2002

| My
family adopted Fritz from you in 1999. He is the best decision that
we have made recently (aside from moving to Montana). I just wanted
to let you know that he is loved, happy and has 40 deer filled acres to
run around on (controlled of coarse). We just adopted 2 kittens and
he is not sure how to deal with them. More of a
"meditation," he just stares at them knowing that he will get
yelled at or worse a claw smack. He is so sensitive. We love
him. I hope that his brother and sister were as lucky to find
families that love them and bring as much joy as he has to our lives. Simply, Thank-you. Jennifer and family |
| Hi
Ross and Lou Now that Liza (Dixie) has been part of our family for a month or so, we thought we would write with an update on her progress. She
is starting to recognize her name and to (sometimes!) come to us on
command. She also is starting to understand our daily habits.
For instance, we always go on a long walk in the morning after the kids
get on the school This dog has such a wonderful, loving, gentle personality. She thinks everyone was put on this earth just to rub her tummy and we are, of course, happy to oblige! She seems a perfect match for our family and we are now totally bonded to her, and think she is beginning to bond with us. I am including a few words from my kids so you will know just how much we treasure this new addition to our family. Keep up your good work with the dogs. Stay in touch. Amy Liza is a great dog!!!! I am glad we got her because she is calm and lets me pet her all the time and doesn't bite me. She is very pretty and so soft. Jeremy My name is Alison . Our family had adopted a husky from husky haven. Her name now is Eliza Jane. We named her that because she lies around a lot. She has been doing great at her new home!! She has been very loving and very sweet. In the morning we ride the bus an Alison |
| Hello, We are the Griffith Family we adopted Princess 2 years ago yesterday. She has been a miracle sent to us, after the loss of our Natasha to cancer that year we were empty inside. Princess fills our love with joy, especially my husband. She is his life. She is a wonderful family member. We would like to thank you for all you do for these special angels. We know our life will never be complete with out a Siberian in it. And the league is the best place to find new family members. We hope to add a younger brother or sister to our family as a playmate for Princess in the next year or so. thank you for all you do and God Bless you, he sure blessed us. Sincerely. Robert, LeJean and Princess. |
| I hope you are doing well. It's hard
to believe that Samantha has been with us for almost a year. You may
recall I adopted her last year around this time - red & white female with
blue eyes. She has been such a wonderful addition to my little family (me
and Kodi - my other Husky). The two of them are like playful children. Samantha
often looks to Kodi for guidance like a big brother. I recently got a new
bed and the two of them lay side by side and think they own it! Samantha
is doing very well and has won the heart of many over and over again. Thank you for taking such good care of a lost and abandoned Huskies. |
|
I adopted a husky from you in February on 2000 named Jackson. I wanted to take a moment and let you know that he's doing well in his new home and is a very beloved member of my family. I've been so happy with him. He gets along well with his 2 sisters, and loves everyone that comes to visit. He's particularly fond of children, though he can seem a little intimidating given his size.
I'm attaching a recent photo. I was setting
up a portrait shoot the other day, and Jackson happened along and decided to
help, so I shot a few pictures of him.
Take care, and thank you,
Sean

Cheyenne is a wonderful
animal.. she is more than just a "dog".. I never in a day dreamed I
could have an instant perfect pet!! She sleeps in my room although she
wont get on the bed or furniture. yet!! I hope she will one day. she loves to go
for a ride in the truck! twice now she has come to me and then ran to the door. so I put her leash on and she pulls me to the truck!! She
likes to be rite under my feet and that's the way I like it.. the day I brought
her home later I took a nap and she did also. she was in the front room and she
came and stood by me and shook her tags I guess to wake me up, because she
needed to go outside..such a sweet girl. I am so thankful you came to her rescue
and now I have her. I will send pictures in the near future..Thanks again ! |
Amber is doing
great. Our lives revolve around her. I'm not kidding. We are getting married next month and if we could, we would take her with us! Tina :) |
Mr. Grizz is doing fine
and getting along very well (finally) with his sister |
We just want you to know that we are having a blast with Lucinda. She has made her foster parents look really good. Please Let them know from the bottom of our hearts thank you for watching Lucinda. Lucinda runs two-miles a day with me and sleeps at the foot of our bed. Lucinda is yet to have an accident in the house and loves our other dog Harley. She loves laying by our front door and sleeping. Thank you very much and keep up the good work with Husky Haven. |
I just wanted to drop a
line and let you know that Samantha has adjusted very well to her new home.
She is so loved by he family. She's like a little teddy bear in a mink
coat. I couldn't be happier with how well she and Kodi get along.
I've been working with her on obedience and it doesn't surprise me how quickly
she has learned.Take care. |

Hi!
Remember me? My name is Lexie but I used to be called Cocoa, then Sadie. I sure
am having a great time at my new home! I have a new big brother that kind of
looks like you Meilosh, black, and white with blue eyes. Mommy says I like to
aggravate him but I'm just trying to have some fun! I'm
being a really good girl, taking all my medicines (frontline and heartguard).
and I've only been bad a few times, like when I stole a pizza off the counter
and when I ate all the flowers in the backyard. But it's so hard for my mommy
and daddy to stay mad at me because I'm so cute! My
daddy took a particular liking to you, Meilosh, and really wanted to take you to
Arkansas with us but they couldn't. They sent you a gift certificate from
PetsMart and you can get a gig bag of treats. Well,
I guess I better go now. Tell everyone I said Hi and tell Pat thanks for taking
such good care of me while I was there! Love
Lexie

| Just
wanted to let you know that Jessie is still doing fine at my house. I take him
and Kota out on the weekends to play with other dogs while I am out playing in
the sports leagues. He seems very socialized and hasn't ever displayed any
aggressive tendencies towards any of the other dogs - even the semi-mean
ones. Everyone out at the fields loves him too... I literally have to drag
the two of them away from all the people petting on them so we can go home at
the end of the day. During the week, they spend a mix of time inside and
outside and both Kota and Jessie seem fine with it. There hasn't been any
further problems with them getting out since I built the 7" fence around
the front part of my house - plus it give
s them a little more space to run now
too. It added about a 15 ft alley on the side of my house that they like
to run down, then tear back out into the yard... they can definitely get up to
full speed in no time. Anyways... I thought you might like to hear an update. Hope everything is going well for you. Bob |

Hi, |
| Taylor
is doing great. He's been going to Obedience/training School with Andrew
and with me, and Sasha. He's usually chosen to demonstrate the exercises,
since, as the trainer says, he doesn't have a problem with the world (and, I
add, he'll do anything for food). Sasha has taught him to swim in the
pool, so now I have 2 dogs swimming laps several times a day. He's bonded
with me very well; he follows me around and sleeps on my side of the bed.
People are constantly stopping us to ask us about him, because he's so
striking. We're very happy with him, and I think he's happy with us
too. He seems to enjoy his friendship with Sasha very much. In case
you did not receive the pictures I mailed to you a few weeks ago, here are the
jpg files so you can put them on the website. I'm curious about how he was sent to you -- did someone find him and take him to the animal shelter, and somehow they called your rescue group, or did he come directly to you from being a stray? Anyway, however it happened, I'm glad you treated him well. Gianna & the menagerie |
| King is doing great. He seems to be very loving & intelligent. Shadow has had to tell the kid how it is a couple of times, other than that they play most of the time & rest & sleep the rest of the time. King travels very well and we think he is a valued addition to our household. |
Just
thought I should drop you a line (though Marla may have already) and say big
THANKS for all of your help through Remington's adoption. He seems to be
getting used to his new surroundings pretty well and our kids and I just love
him. He rode in the van with the whole family today and went into two pet
stores with us and was quiet enough to stay in the room with us through
dinner. We are very very happy with him Thanks Again.Sincerely, Bob, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Marla |

Just dropping a line to tell you both how well Spice Girl is adjusting to her new home. It's so obvious that she is and was very loved and cared for while in your care. My boys (William and Andrew) just adore her. I'll send a photo soon & thanks again. |
|
Fritz and Tango Just wanted to thank
you again for such a wonderful animal. He is a love! I took these
photos late yesterday afternoon after puppy school in the front yard.
Fritz already knows the routine. 10 minutes on the lead-then PLAYTIME with
Tango!!!!! Enjoy! |
