My Siberian Husky pants a lot while in the house, not in direct sunlight. I have had him in our air conditioned room with us and he loves it. But I was told he could catch pnemonia from the air conditioner, is this true? Also, another owner shaved their dogs belly so he could feel the coolness of the ground he dug. Is this ok to do?

No — he can not catch pneumonia from the air conditioner. It does not hurt to shave their belly, but does not do much good either. Shaving also takes away the skins protection from anything that may be on the ground, like chemicals and insects. Panting is the bodies natural cooling system and is completely normal. Unless he seem in distress, I would not worry about it.

So, what do you think ?
