Sponsor a Siberian

The dogs listed below have medical expenses above and beyond the normal cost rescuing a dog.

Sponsorships may be one time donations or timed payments to help cover the costs of medical care, treatment recovery, or housing. Our adoption donation cannot begin to cover the average rescue cost for many dogs and your financial support is needed.

If you would like to Sponsor a Siberian via PayPal please click on the Sponsor Me under the dogs picture, note which dog you wish to help, or specify the type of treatment you wish your donation to be used, on the Payment For line. If you would like to send a check please email us for the mailing address. General fund or unspecified donations will go to the dogs that need help most at that time. ALL your donations are appreciated, regardless of size.

Sponsors will get their name on our website and updates on the dogs progress.

NOTES: I am Reba the DIVA! I talk and sing! Right now I am working on a new song……I wuv woo…and I practice everyday. You know what makes me happy? Being with you! Right next to you. All the time. Wanna go for a walk? Okay! Wanna watch TV? Okay! Wanna go to the dog park? Okay! Whatever you wanna do - I wanna do - as long as I am with you. I am crate trained. I don’t jump on furniture. I come when you call me. I know how to sit. I behave well in the doggy park and in the car. I am housetrained, if there is a doggy door. I LOVE long daily walks / jogs…..and they are real important to me because I have LOTS of energy. My foster mom takes me for a walk / jog every morning with 2 other huskies and we go 3-7 miles. It is so much FUN! I like to play with other dogs, some. But usually, I just hang out on my foster mom’s feet…..and give her lots of hugs and kisses…..and help her with chores……and give her all of my attention. Did I tell you? I have the sweetest face in the whole wide world with cool looking eyeliner and a good-luck-polka-dot right in the middle of my nose. One of my eyes is a little messed up, not sure why, but I can see out of it – a little bit. And both of my eyes are a beautiful blue. E-mail Husky Haven your adoption application today and tell them you want to meet Reba the DIVA! I am ready to meet you. Be sure to click on my picture above, so you can see how adorable I am. See ya soon... More pics {2}

IVAN THE GREAT

THANK WOO to Jonathan M. for donating $100 for Ivan!

I am a huge boy that was turned in to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter by my owner. I am severly overweight, weighing in at 99 pounds. A couple of days after I was rescued by Husky Haven, a huge abcess burst on my elbow. The infection was very severe and had begun to affect my organs. The doctors thought they might have to amputate my leg. After spending almost a week at the vets office, it seems I am turning the corner and recovering.

On 3/10/06 The vets office report the following on Ivan:

Seems a main contributing problem is the weight (99#!!) and it doesnt allow him to "flush" the infection himself by drinking water. He's been given fluids to help and because he's still not eating. There are small sores on his tongue and in his mouth (possibly down into his stomach and a side effect of infection) which is probably another reason he's not eating. So Iven has meds to help ease his stomach as well as the antibiotics. He is also anemic and his thyroid levels are off from the infection. Chem panel levels are kinda everywhere and a mess.

But the good news is the infection is not into his joint/bone and it did break open making it easy to find. Dr.H feels if the infection site had remained sealed all this time, it would be much worse for Iven and we might be making "life" decisions now. As it is, Iven is at a crossroads... he will either start getting better or he will become worse with not much between. (ie liver/kidney will simply start to fail?) He will still have a bit of a long road, but he's been hanging in there so far and we should know more later this weekend.

Pictures of Ivan's injury can be seen at HERE

THANK WOO to Cindy S. in LA for rescuing this little girl and sending to her to us along with a $100 donation to her medical bills.

Puppy kisses to Wendy M. for donating $50 to Meagan.

Meagan is a sweet girl that was dumped in a Louisiana shelter at 5 weeks of age. She spent a two days at the Emergency Clinic, with special fluids, and recovered enough to go home. She is sweet girl that still needs lots of TLC.

TRINA

THANK WOO DON for sponsoring this girl so she could be rescued and treated for heartworms!

Trina was pulled from the LaPorte shelter on 11/1/05. She is very scared. She was practically crawling when she came. She is Red /White. Probably about 3 years old. I took her for a walk this eve and she did pretty well. She looks mostly like a Siberian but there is a mix of something there. Her nose is black as well as her tongue. But she is a very sweet girl and gives kisses and likes belly rubs.

With some groceries and lots of love, I will be a beautiful girl again. I need some sponsors to help pay for the cost of my surgery which will be at least $350 as long as there are no complications.

KATHY LEE'S medical bills are over $500

KATHY WAS ADOPTED MAY 13, 2006

Husky Kisses to Susan J. for donating $25 dollars via Paypal.

NOTES: Update 8/14/05 Due to neglect, I had a severe case of hookworms. They lacerated my stomach and intestines so much that I had to have a blood transfusion. (Now that I have been wormed, and the hookworms are gone, my stomach will heal.)On 8/12/05 (a few days after the transfusion) I was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with pneumonia. So now, I am getting lots of antibiotics and TLC from my foster mom to help me get better.

I am a cute little girl that like to lay in your lap and be loved on. I am very sweet, with a great disposition. I probably weigh about 35 pounds and don't mind being picked up and held on my back like a baby. More Pic...

Many Husky Hugs to Tina for donating $75, Antonia for donating $35, and Groomers on the Go for donating $35, for Becci's rehabilitation.

Update 8/20/05. My foster Mom says that I am fine now. Just need some time and TLC and I will be beautiful!! Oh--I also need a forever new home!! Can I come home with you??

Update 8/14/05. My face is healing nicely. All of the infection and scabs are gone, my skin is nice and pink. It will take a few weeks for the hair to come back.

I am a small girl that ended up in the shelter with horrible damage to the skin around my eyes and on my nose. The vet thinks the damage was caused by fire ants. I will have no lasting problems, but it was very painful. My hair is growing back and soon you will be able to see the black bar on my nose.

UPDATED: August 5, 2005: He is being treated for heartworms the conservative way. He is doing GREAT. He is a real fighter. A Super dog. He gets special attention and is getting to stay in the house during his HW treatment. He is eating well and his hair has grown back. The hair loss was due to a thyroid deficiency. He will be on Thyroid meds for the rest of his life. He likes them with his Vienna Sausage treat.

I am a sable male with brown eyes. I am about 12 years old. My previous owner got very sick and his family tied me up in the back yard and left me there. After he died, they sent me to the County shelter to be euthanized. Husky Haven pulled me from the shelter and treated me for Hooks, whips and heartworms. I am slowly gaining my health and my dignity.

Melvin's medical bills are over $1500

Melvin was adopted on Feb 8, 2005

He was a very sick boy when we got him out of the shelter. The first vet we took him to told us to put him down. We refused and took him to another vet. He had to be given fluid for 10 days and force fed just to keep him alive. He was 37 pounds at the time. At first we did not know what was wrong with him but soon his foster mom watched him pass some cloth he had eaten. He had 2 intestinal operations to remove obstructions. In all they had to remove 6 inches of his intestine.

He had to be treated for a severe case of heartworms, neutered and he requires thyroid medicine everyday. His daily medicines cost about 7 dollars a month.

Through it all he has been a fighter with a wonderful personality. He now weighs in at 54 pounds!

ADOPTED
